Learning Outputs:

 Knowledge and Understanding (A)

After completing this program, Graduate will be able to:  

A1:  Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basic and supportive medical science concepts, principles and theories and general culture principles.

A2: Explain the scientific concepts related to the specialized medical sciences, and the ethical and legal principles for the practice of the medical profession.

A3: Explain the basic principles for treating common and life-threatening diseases including medical intervention cases.

A4: Describe the clinical signs and symptoms of all diseases within his specialty.

Intellectual Skills (B)

After completing this program, Graduate will be able to:

B1: Predict the appropriate medical diagnosis of the most common conditions by analyzing clinical history data and the results of the patient's medical examinations.

B2: Practice evidence-based critical thinking skills to assess the clinical and non-clinical problems including those related to health system performance and other related sciences.

B3: Choose the appropriate and effective treatment for each medical condition.

B4: Identify the cases that must be referred to a higher level of care, with the judgment of whether or not to act on their own.

Professional and Practical Skills (C)   

After completing this program, Graduate will be able to:

C1: Record accurately a patient's comprehensive medical history including information on healthy behavior and the necessary medical investigations for patients.

C2: Exercise the foundations of clinical diagnosis and all the basic practical skills necessary for the profession with great skills.

C3: Use different medical and technical devices correctly and keeps pace with scientific development.

C4: Read the results of medical laboratory and radiological investigations and write reports and prescriptions for all common cases in a proper manner.

General Skills (D)

After completing this program, Graduate will be able to:

D1: Communicate ethically and professionally with patients, colleagues, and other medical related professions.

D2: Develop his scientific, professional and research capabilities on his own and follows what is happening in his field of specialization, including employees in computer applications and information and communication technology

D3: Practice skills of debate, negotiation, supervision, medical management, problem solving and responsible decision-making.

D4: Work effectively in normal conditions, crises and epidemics, alone and within a medical team.

Graduate Attributes of the program:

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduates will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate appropriate and sufficient knowledge of basic medical, clinical, statistical and behavioral sciences, incorporating and applying this knowledge to patient care.
  2. Demonstrate a wide range of clinical skills that enable him to provide appropriate care to patients effectively to treat health problems, while optimizing the resources of the health  system and providing optimal care for patients.
  3. Providing appropriate health care services at various levels including emergency, first aid procedures and immediate CPR, while applying patient safety and infection control measures during practice.
  4. Conducting a complete and appropriate physical examination and taking and recording patients' histories in an organized, patient-centered manner, with the identification of appropriate diagnostic tests and the interpretation of their results.
  5. Diagnose emergency conditions and common health problems, treat them, refer those beyond his capacity to specialists, and seek appropriate advice from other health care professionals when needed.
  6. Interpreting the results of medical laboratory and radiological investigations and writing reports and medical prescriptions for all common cases in a proper manner.
  7. Apply quality rules and systems in medical services and health systems management, and adhere to professional ethics when dealing with patients, their families and other healthcare professionals.
  8. Practice evidence-based critical thinking to assess the reality of clinical and non-clinical health problems and to manage common and emergency medical conditions.
  9. Demonstrate soft skills such as time management and communication skills that enable him to effectively exchange information with patients, their families, professional partners and other healthcare professionals.
  10. Work independently and in a team effectively with other healthcare professionals and participate in the implementation of medical research of all kinds.
  11. Continuous learning, updating his medical information and developing his personal and professional skills, employing computer applications and information and communication technology.

Al-Hikma University is a private educational institution officially licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with the number 1358 dated 26/7/2008 AD. The activity of the Al-Hikma Educational Foundation began in 2004 under the name of the University Institute for Medical Specialties, then the name of the College of Wisdom was added in 2007 AD for technical and administrative majors with a license from the Ministry of Public Health and Population and the Ministry of Education, Technical Training and Vocational Training, respectively.
