About Center
Introduction:
Al-Hikma University believes in the importance of quality and its role in improving its operations and developing its academic programs and administrative services in an effort to develop its outputs; It has established a special department for quality assurance in the university, as the University Council issued Decision No. (37) on the date: 9/25/2016 AD, provided that the headquarters of the department is on the university campus in Sana’a, in addition to establishing quality units in the university branch in Taiz, as well as in The main center of the university in Dhamar, in order to lead quality initiatives, spread the quality culture, its principles and foundations, and enhance academic and administrative practices, as well as improve the teaching and learning process, academic performance, and administrative services in general, in addition to continuous development and improvement at all academic and administrative levels, the name of the administration has also been modified to the Center for Development and Quality Assurance in line with the directives of the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education in the Republic of Yemen by University President Resolution No. (184) for the year 2020 AD. Concurrently, the university has completed the preparation and formulation of the university's first strategic plan (2021-2025) in light of the conditions the country is going through in general, and higher education institutions in particular, this comes from the belief of the university leadership in the importance of the role played by the university in advancing the development wheel by improving the educational outputs to meet the requirements of the labor market. Strategic projects related to development, quality and accreditation work adopted by the university's strategy.

Objectives:
1- Spreading the culture of quality assurance, program accreditation and good practices among all the university employees.
2- Providing consultancy and technical support to the colleges, departments, programs and the administrative units of the university so that they improve their performance and achieve the requirements and the standards of quality assurance.
3- Building and developing the capacity of the teaching staff and administrators of the university in the fields of planning, development, quality assurance and accreditation.
4- Providing an updated database for all the academic programs and their courses as well as the requirements of the quality assurance academically and administratively which are related to the duties of the center.
5- Applying the systems, procedures and the tools of quality assurance and accreditation in order to improve the academic and administrative performance and to participate in achieving the university’s mission and objectives.
6- Preparing the colleges and the programs in the University to meet the requirements of the local and regional accreditation.
7- Creating communication channels with the local and international centers, and institutions that are interested in the quality assurance of higher education.
Dean
Quality in higher education institutions is one of the most important means of improving and developing the quality of education and advancing its level in the era of globalization. Rather, it has become an urgent necessity dictated by the rapid changes taking place in the higher education sector, the requirements of modern life, and the intensification of competitiveness among universities through the adoption of quality standards and the innovation of mechanisms to preserve their entity by improving their activities and outputs.
For this, Al-Hikma University is keen, through the Center for Development and Quality Assurance at the university, to provide the elements for the continuous development of teaching and learning to keep pace with scientific and technological developments, conducting research, community service, developing university performance, and raising the level of university graduates in pursuit of excellence; By adopting scientific standards to reach outputs that are consistent with the graduate specifications approved by the Academic Accreditation Council of the Republic of Yemen and commensurate with the needs of the labor market.
The center will work in cooperation with the university's faculties and branches to improve the level of the university's performance and enhance its competitiveness in terms of academic, research and community service.

1. Follow up on the implementation of the strategic plan of the university and its projects by all academic units and its branches in the main center and its branches.
2. Deriving the university's annual operational plan at the beginning of each year from the strategic executive plan.
3. Preparing monthly, quarterly, mid-term and annual reports on the level of completion of plans and raising them.
4. Participate in the preparation and implementation of the operational plan of the Center's deanship, develop the performance indicators of its unit, and work on its implementation.
5. Managing the unit and organizing its own business according to specific tasks and plans.
6. Submitting development proposals and improving work procedures in order to achieve quality and contribute to achieving the center's mission and objectives.
7. Contribute to the development of the university's systems and regulations to ensure the development of its performance in the various fields of work.
8. Organizing the meetings of the committee supervising the implementation of the strategy, preparing the minutes of its meetings, and following up the implementation of its recommendations and decisions.
9. Participate in administrative and institutional development committees and submit proposals for the development of work at the university.
10. Arranging and coordinating the preparation of the university's strategic plan by holding workshops and proposing committees and advisors and the implementation time.
11. Ensure compatibility and harmony between the strategic plans of the faculties, supporting deanships, and units, and the strategic plan of the university.
12. Proposing amendments to the strategic plan based on an assessment of the level of achievement of objectives, programs and projects.
13. Collecting and analyzing relevant data and information and submitting them to the university presidency.
14. Study and discuss what is referred to the unit by the Higher Committee or the Executive Council.
15. Provide the necessary support to the line manager and perform any other tasks assigned to him.
- Head of the Academic Programs Unit
1. Participate in the preparation and implementation of the operational plan of the Center's deanship, develop the performance indicators of its unit, and work on its implementation.
2. Managing the unit and organizing its own business according to specific tasks and plans.
3. Submitting development proposals and improving work procedures in order to achieve quality and contribute to achieving the center's mission and objectives.
4. Supervising the scientific departments in the colleges by preparing and reviewing academic programs and courses, and conducting self-evaluation studies in accordance with the standards of the academic (programmatic) accreditation document approved by the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
5. Continuous follow-up of program and course descriptions, and make observations about the content and modification of documents and submit them to the Dean of the Center.
6. Ensure the implementation of lectures in classrooms according to study plans approved at the university level, and in cooperation with the heads of quality assurance units in colleges and branches.
7. Follow up the descriptions of programs and courses, make observations about the content of documents related to them, modify them, and submit them to the dean of the center.
8. Preparing periodic reports related to the level of performance development of academic programs at the university.
9. Follow-up on the preparation and development of academic program manuals and academic accreditation standards on an ongoing basis in accordance with the approved references.
10. Preparing appropriate mechanisms for developing curricula and academic regulations in line with the university's mission and objectives.
11. Supervising the preparation of institutional and program accreditation plans for all administrative units and scientific disciplines.
12. Providing the necessary technical support to the scientific departments of the programs nominated for accreditation.
13. Follow-up of all new developments in the field of accreditation and academic development and circulate it to the relevant authorities.
14. Managing communication with internal and external academic accreditation bodies and coordinating external resident programs.
15. Follow up the preparation of requirements for obtaining primary licenses and academic accreditation for scientific programs.
16. Participate in the preparation and completion of academic program files targeted for academic accreditation with the aim of evaluating them by specialized committees for field visits by local and international accreditation institutions and bodies, and in coordination with colleges and branches.
17. Organizing and arranging workshops for academic accreditation.
18. Verifying that the various academic programs meet the requirements for obtaining institutional and program accreditation.
19. Preserving all documents related to academic accreditation and following up on archiving them in a manner that facilitates reference when needed.
20. Follow up the preparation of program and course reports, and ensure that they are archived by the quality assurance units in colleges and branches.
21. Submit proposals in the field of developing study plans for scientific departments and updating them to keep pace with scientific development and the requirements of the labor market.
22. Provide the necessary support to the line manager and perform any other tasks assigned to him.
- Head of Measurement and Evaluation Unit:
1. Participate in the preparation and implementation of the operational plan of the Center's deanship, develop the performance indicators of its unit, and work on its implementation.
2. Managing the unit and organizing its own business according to specific tasks and plans.
3. Submitting development proposals and improving work procedures to achieve quality and contribute to achieving the center's mission and goals.
4. Preparing periodic reports related to the level of performance development of academic programs at the university.
5. Developing performance indicators for all academic and administrative units and supervising the collection of data related to indicators.
6. Designing and developing questionnaires related to surveying the opinions of employees, students, graduates, and authorities related to evaluating the quality of educational services and their support services.
7. Preparing the annual quality performance report for the main center and branches based on the results of evaluating the various fields and circulating it to the concerned authorities to develop corrective plans for deviation rates.
8. Following up the development of evaluation guides and measurement tools for academic performance.
9. Supervise the academic performance evaluation processes according to the approved fields and evaluators, in coordination with the relevant units to ensure that the evaluation process is conducted in accordance with the approved controls.
10. Follow-up issuing periodic reports on customer complaints and suggestions.
11. Developing the information exchange system between the deanship and the academic and administrative units of the university.
12. Providing the internal and external parties with the required data in a timely manner.

- Head of Training and Technical Support Unit:
1. Participate in the preparation and implementation of the operational plan of the Center's deanship, develop the performance indicators of its unit, and work on its implementation.
2. Managing the unit and organizing its own business according to specific tasks and plans.
3. Submitting development proposals and improving work procedures in order to achieve quality and contribute to achieving the center's mission and objectives.
4. Participate in providing the necessary support with regard to the implementation of the strategic project for academic training.
5. Follow-up of scientific colleges and departments by raising the training needs of academics at the beginning of each academic year and submitting them for review and approval by the university presidency.
6. Reviewing the names of the training courses nominated to be implemented with the concerned scientific departments and colleges.
7. Coordinating with officials of the measurement and evaluation units, academic programs and accreditation in determining the training courses to be implemented for academics in colleges through feedback on the results of the annual performance evaluation and accreditation requirements.
8. Implementation of programs and training courses for academics in accordance with the approved plan for training and its financial budget.
9. Implementing awareness and educational training programs and courses on the importance of quality and programmatic and institutional accreditation standards.
10. Updating the database of local and regional training competencies to benefit from it in the training process.
11. Submitting a report on the progress of the implementation of the approved training plan at the end of each semester, as well as a detailed report at the end of each training course to the university presidency to assess the level of implementation.
12. Providing the necessary technical support to scientific departments and colleges with training consultations and the names of specialized training courses and trainers.

- Head of the documentation, archiving and information unit
1. Participate in the preparation and implementation of the operational plan of the Deanship of the Center, and work on its implementation.
2. Follow up the work of the unit and organize its own work according to the specific tasks and plans.
3. Submitting development proposals and improving work procedures in order to achieve quality and contribute to achieving the center's mission and objectives.
4. Managing the archiving system effectively, providing appropriate means of protection, and submitting periodic reports on it.
5. Documenting all the work of the Center and its various units, both on paper and electronically.
6. Updating the database and information for the archiving system on an up-to-date basis.
7. Following up the collection, classification, classification and preservation of all documents, references and legislation in coordination and cooperation with the rest of the Center's deanship units and the concerned authorities in ways that ensure ease of use.
8. Providing the internal and external parties with the required data in a timely manner.
9. Collecting and documenting data and information related to development, quality and accreditation processes from its approved sources.
10. Updating and following up the website of the Deanship of the Center, as well as social networking sites, and posting the latest developments and news first-hand, in coordination with the Deanship of the Center.
11. Participate in the coordination, preparation, processing, and follow-up of the various evaluation processes, internal auditing, and program self-evaluation at the headquarters and branches level, and follow-up on relevant reports.
12. Carrying out and responding to various communications (telephone, electronic, direct) with all relevant authorities.

14. Preparing the correspondence issued by the deanship and giving it the issued serial number and following up on its results.
